Northern lights overhead at the cabins

Aurora borealis

Northern lights from your front yard

Dark Alaska skies, open views and a warm cabin a few steps away.

Aurora season at the cabins

The aurora is visible when the sky is dark, roughly from late August into April in Southcentral Alaska. Trapper Creek is far from big-city light, and the property has wide-open views toward the Alaska Range.

There are no guarantees with the northern lights: it takes solar activity, clear skies and a little patience. The upside of staying here is that you don't have to drive anywhere. Step outside, look up, and come back in when you're cold.

“The view alone was worth the trip, seeing Denali from my front porch, the northern lights in my front yard was breathtaking. Being able to ride my snow machine right from my cabin and be on the trails was worth the price of admission.”
